Recent bodies of collaborative work focus on co-creative ritual, highlighting the intersection of uncanny threads connecting my own past experiences, vivid dreamscapes, and previous performance work. As an artist-scholar I have delved into archival cartographic research and contemporary mapping of intangible cultural heritage for years, linking ephemeral elements and ritual gestures found in traditional knowledge systems throughout Indian Ocean and Black Atlantic diasporas. Making space for speculative meanderings to percolate and connect with sources beyond institutional inscription, my work offers alternate methods for being a visual scribe, or existing in a global moment whose contours for grounding have shifted.
